Area is A = ((base 1 + base 2) / 2) × height. Perimeter is P = base 1 + base 2 + side 1 + side 2.
A trapezoid with bases of 8 m and 14 m and a height of 5 m has an area of ((8 + 14) / 2) × 5 = 55 m². If the other sides are 6 m and 7 m, its perimeter is 8 + 14 + 6 + 7 = 35 m.
The bases are the two parallel sides. They do not have to be at the top and bottom when the shape is rotated.
