Splendid Bacon, splendid indeed

Having looked at and played with a lot of web apps, this is the best I’ve seen in a while. It’s a pure project that’s sublime in it’s simplicity. This is a project management app without all the extra stuff, it cuts down to the barebones and provides just what you need.

The more advanced project management applications are great for large businesses that need them, but for small businesses… Continue reading

Podio, a beautiful work platform

Podio is currently offering invites, so you won’t be able to signup immediately. But it’s well adding yourself to the invite list if you run a business with a small number of employees. This is the most beautiful web based work platform I’ve seen. Truly a pixel perfect creation that’s a joy to use. All these looks do detract from the actual function of the product, after all it is designed to help you work.

It has all the usual functions of a product of this type, activity stream, calendar, tasks, contacts and messaging. But what sets it apart is the ability to add additional apps and even create your… Continue reading

Pushnote, genius but forgettable?

Now, first things first, Pushnote is genius! This is one of those apps that you can’t believe hasn’t already been created. I first picked up on it when Stephen Fry pushed (pardon the pun) it on his blog, he’s a British comedian and member of the Twitterati (over 2 million followers) who has a vested interest in the startup (as an investor).

When you sign up for Pushnote, you are asked to install a browser plugin, I believe they have currently created plugins for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer (lacking support for Apple’s Safari)… Continue reading

Powerbar 2 Review

Not strictly technology, actually not really technology at all. The Powerbar 2 is one of those products you want to tell people about. Essentially, this is a pull up bar that fits to your door frame and requires no screws and almost no assembly.

This updated version has introduced flat rubber pads to prevent marks on your door frame, and new plastic mouldings to prevent damage to walls. The website claims it fits on 99.5% of all single doors anywhere in the world. The powerbar takes 10 seconds to put up or take down once you have worked out how. Once it’s taken down and folded, it’s easily storable. This is a solid, well designed product that vastly exceeded my expectations.

Green Hornet

Sony Pictures is currently running a campaign promoting, the Green Hornet. Following the death of his father, Britt Reid, heir to his father’s large company, teams up with his late dad’s assistant Kato to become a masked crime fighting team. The campaign is running through the UK and Italy. Please watch the video below and […]

ThinkPad nipple RSI

Most of the time I use a Lenovo ThinkPad X200. It runs well, has a great keyboard and the famous ThinkPad nipple. I’ve not spoken to many people who like this type of pointing device, mainly because it takes a while getting used to. My first laptop was a very very old ThinkPad, so I’ve […]
